It’s time to stop obsessively cleaning your white sneakers—at least, according to Bella Hadid.
On February 19, the 28-year-old model stepped out in Los Angeles wearing her version of athleisure, complete with micro-polka-dot biker shorts, a white tank top, and an oversized black tote bag (nary a hair tie in sight). It wasn’t the bagfluencer’s ludicrously capacious carryall that caught my eye, however, but her distressed white sneakers.
Unlike most A-listers setting sneaker trends left and right, Hadid chose kicks that weren’t from a trusted athletic company like Adidas, Puma, or Nike, or even a niche sneaker brand like Katie Holmes’s go-to Autrys. After practically leading the Coach bag renaissance, she’s giving the revitalized brand’s footwear collection her seal of approval, stepping out in a pair of their new Soho sneakers—and yes, they’re supposed to look a bit dirty.
Instead of mucking up her sneakers through everyday wear, she got those smudges with purchase (or possibly brand gifting), as she opted for the Soho Sneaker in distressed leather, according to Coach. You know the purposefully worn-in Golden Goose sneakers that cost hundreds of dollars? Hadid’s sneakers feel like a more subtle, $175 version of that.
And while slim-fitting sneakers are definitely trending for 2025, Bella Hadid is sticking to a style more akin to an ’80s court sneakers. The shoe’s deliberate imperfections and Hadid’s bunched-up crew socks toughen up an otherwise simple look by contrasting the feminine pattern of her bike shorts and Saint Laurent Y tote—a luxury bag with a much higher price point than her recent Coach favorites. Of course, her sporty black sunglasses pull everything together.
